Onetree Border Collies

Monsrebarose JD - 'Reba'

REBA

Reba was my first Border Collie and she started this love affair with the breed, it has only been 8 short months since she passed over to Rainbow Bridge but the pain I feel for her is still so raw. She was only 4 years old and died of a brain tumour.

A little about her:

It makes me smile just thinking of what a goof ball she was, everyone loved her and when she would go to school she had to make sure they all got her special kisses. Reba was especially special to me not only was she my first Border but she helped me when no-one could. A very intelligent girl with a heart of gold and a love of tennis balls and cows, she would sit, chase ans stalk the cows for hours and when she wasn't doing that playing ball and training is what she did best.

Reba competed in Agility, Obedience and Flyball, she wasn't good at obedience as she tended to get bored and it just wasn't fun but put her in front of some jumps and weaves and she just flew. Not a huge fan of Flyball but she had this charm about her that made me decide to give her a go and she was right to, it didn't take long for her to get FDCH although she did prefer the left side and I can picture her start-line bounce as she waits for the green light.

Agility was our specialty tho' with Reba gaining her JD title in just one day, she was accurate and fast in jumpers and she would always give me this hurry up growl, she craved for jumpers. It was only 3 weeks after she gained her title that I noticed a change in her behaviour and after 2 months of tests a few thousand dollars later that she died in my arms on July 31st 2009.

I miss you Reba, R.I.P my beautiful girl

Rainbow Bridge

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
